DESCRIPTION:As we prepare to gather in Los Angeles for the NAHSE 41st Annual Educational Conference\, we have an opportunity to demonstrate that leadership extends beyond the conference room and into the communities we serve. \nLed by the NAHSE Southern and Northern California Chapters\, this year’s conference community service initiative will support two organizations doing important work for individuals and families: \n\nMagic Johnson Foundation – Faithful Central Church\nJenesse Domestic Violence Intervention Program\n\nWe are asking every NAHSE chapter to help us make this a truly national effort by encouraging members to participate and\, where possible\, organizing a collective chapter contribution. \nSupporting Our National Impact Priorities \nThis initiative also reflects NAHSE’s broader commitment to creating meaningful community impact in areas that directly influence health and well-being\, including: \n\nFood Insecurity — helping individuals and families access basic nutritional resources.\nMental Health — supporting environments and community organizations that promote safety\, stability\, dignity\, and overall well-being.\nMaternal Health — continuing to elevate awareness and action around the health and well-being of mothers\, women\, and families.\n\nOur goal is not simply to gather donations. It is to demonstrate what becomes possible when the collective reach of One NAHSE is activated in service to the communities where we live\, work\, and convene. \nSupport the Magic Johnson Foundation – Faithful Central Church \nWe are collecting rice and broth to support community food assistance efforts. When checking out\, be sure to choose the “Jenesse” address for delivery: Amazon Link Here \nThe collected items will be formally presented in connection with our community service efforts on Wednesday during the Annual Educational Conference. \nImportant Shipping Deadline \nPlease encourage your chapter members to make their purchases as early as possible\, starting September 6\, 2026. \nWednesday\, September 30\, 2026 is the ADVANCE SHIPMENT DEADLINE. \nThis is the final day for advance shipments to arrive at the warehouse without surcharges. \nPlease Note: Any shipments arriving after Monday\, October 5\, 2026 may be subject to additional truck and driver charges. \nTo help us avoid unnecessary costs and ensure all donations are received in time for the conference\, we strongly encourage chapters and members to complete their Amazon purchases well before September 30. \nHow Chapter Leaders Can Help \nWe ask each chapter to: \n\nShare both Amazon donation links with your membership.\nEncourage members to purchase one or more requested items.\nConsider organizing a chapter-wide giving effort to increase your collective contribution.\nPromote the initiative through your chapter’s email\, social media\, meetings\, and member communications.\nComplete purchases early enough to meet the September 30 advance shipment deadline.\n\nEvery donation matters. A bag of rice can help put food on a family’s table. A box of toiletries can provide dignity and comfort to someone rebuilding their life.
