As we prepare to gather in Los Angeles for the NAHSE 41st Annual Educational Conference, we have an opportunity to demonstrate that leadership extends beyond the conference room and into the communities we serve.

Led by the NAHSE Southern and Northern California Chapters, this year’s conference community service initiative will support two organizations doing important work for individuals and families:

• Magic Johnson Foundation – Faithful Central Church
• Jenesse Domestic Violence Intervention Program

We are asking every NAHSE chapter to help us make this a truly national effort by encouraging members to participate and, where possible, organizing a collective chapter contribution.

Supporting Our National Impact Priorities

This initiative also reflects NAHSE’s broader commitment to creating meaningful community impact in areas that directly influence health and well-being, including:

• Food Insecurity — helping individuals and families access basic nutritional resources.
• Mental Health — supporting environments and community organizations that promote safety, stability, dignity, and overall well-being.
• Maternal Health — continuing to elevate awareness and action around the health and well-being of mothers, women, and families.

Our goal is not simply to gather donations. It is to demonstrate what becomes possible when the collective reach of One NAHSE is activated in service to the communities where we live, work, and convene.

The collected items will be formally presented in connection with our community service efforts on Wednesday during the Annual Educational Conference.

Important Shipping Deadline

Please encourage your chapter members to make their purchases as early as possible, starting September 6, 2026.

Wednesday, September 30, 2026 is the ADVANCE SHIPMENT DEADLINE.

This is the final day for advance shipments to arrive at the warehouse without surcharges.

Please Note: Any shipments arriving after Monday, October 5, 2026 may be subject to additional truck and driver charges.

To help us avoid unnecessary costs and ensure all donations are received in time for the conference, we strongly encourage chapters and members to complete their Amazon purchases well before September 30.

How Chapter Leaders Can Help

We ask each chapter to:

• Share both Amazon donation links with your membership.
• Encourage members to purchase one or more requested items.
• Consider organizing a chapter-wide giving effort to increase your collective contribution.
• Promote the initiative through your chapter’s email, social media, meetings, and member communications.
• Complete purchases early enough to meet the September 30 advance shipment deadline.

Every donation matters. A bag of rice can help put food on a family’s table. A box of toiletries can provide dignity and comfort to someone rebuilding their life. And when chapters from across the country participate together, those individual acts become a powerful expression of NAHSE’s national impact.

As we come together in Los Angeles to advance healthcare leadership, let’s also demonstrate what leadership looks like through service, compassion, and collective action.
