Please join N.A.H.S.E. Dallas-Fort Worth for our Men’s Health and Leadership Fireside Chat. This insightful conversation will focus on the professional and personal experiences of navigating life and careers for black men in healthcare. The event is designated to be inclusive and open to all individuals irrespective of gender. We welcome and encourage both men and women to attend. The fireside chat will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at HCA Medical City Las Colinas. The address is 6800 N. MacArthur Blvd, Irving Texas 75039 (Classroom 3) from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Speaker: Ken Stevens, MHA has been named as the Chief Operating Officer for Medical City Lewisville, starting June 12, 2024. Prior to this role, Ken served as Vice President of Operations for Medical City Frisco since 2020. He was an integral executive team member and provided operational oversight of ancillary functions, construction and real estate and was part of the hospital’s $300 million capital deployment. Ken also served as the administrative leader for cardiology, general surgery/colorectal and bariatric service lines, and held departmental responsibilities over cath lab, pharmacy, imaging, lab, respiratory therapy, environmental services, food and nutrition services, facilities, and rehabilitation. Ken began his HCA Healthcare career in 2011 as a financial analyst at Medical City Arlington. Before HCA Healthcare, he worked in supply chain management at an outside facility. Ken has a Master of Health Administration from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Texas Tech University.

Speaker: Marcus Jackson, FACHE has been named Chief Operating Officer for Medical City of Las Colinas starting June 1, 2024. Marcus began his healthcare career as a respiratory therapist and since then, has served in progressive leadership roles including respiratory therapy and cardiopulmonary Director. He most recently served as Vice President of Operations and Co-Ethics Compliance Officer at Medical City Arlington since 2017. During his tenure, he held executive oversight and decision-making responsibilities for several major capital improvement projects, including the grand opening of Medical City Women’s Hospital Arlington and Medical City ER Red Oak and completing a seven-story parking garage and a 90,000-square-foot medical office building on campus. Marcus earned a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry and Leadership at Dallas Christian College, a Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Systems Management from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Arts in New Testament Preaching from Johnson Bible College. He also earned his Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Care from El Centro College. He is also a United States Marine Corps Reserve veteran and ordained associate pastor for 24 years.

Moderator: Rachel Brooks, M.Ed. has been with HCA since June 2022 and has been a diversity, equity, and inclusion practitioner for over12 years. Rachel’s key experiences reside in developing and implementing strategic programs, initiatives, and trainings across industries including higher education and community non-profits. Rachel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master of Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and is finalizing a Doctor of Philosophy in Education Administration at Indiana State University. She is a native of Milwaukee, WI, the mother of one, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

Access to the event is free of charge to all financial members of the DFW Chapter. The fee for non-members is $20.00 per person.
