About the role
The Patient Access Specialist is responsible for routine patient access activity for ancillary, diagnostic, surgical and emergency services to facilitate efficient operations, expeditious reimbursement and optimal customer and employee satisfaction.
Department: Admitting. Shift: Monday through Friday, 9:15 AM to 5:45 PM. Job type: On-site.
What you'll do
- Perform registration, including verifying demographics, processing point of service payments and obtaining consents
- Complete coverage eligibility, insurance verification, patient portion calculation and authorization activity
- Resolve routine patient issues and assist with reimbursement questions
- Comply with performance standards, regulations, policies and third party contracts
What you bring
- At least 1 year of healthcare or patient access experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- NAHAM CHAA certification preferred
