About the role
The Manager, Health Information Management Coding oversees daily coding operations to support remote coding associates in meeting and exceeding performance metrics. Reporting to the Director of HIM Coding Operations, the role ensures coding operations are standardized, meet regulatory requirements and support hospital operations and revenue cycle initiatives.
Schedule: 5 days, 8 hours. Work type: Full time.
What you'll do
- Analyze internal and external audit results to identify improvement opportunities
- Provide coaching and feedback to coding staff and support audit rebuttals
- Oversee coder work assignments and monitor coding and billing reports for timely processing
- Partner with CDI, HIM, Revenue Cycle, IT, Compliance and Quality teams to optimize workflows
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting documentation, reimbursement and coding
- Lead hiring, onboarding, training and performance of coding associates
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree, medical record science/administration or equivalent healthcare leadership experience required
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10/PCS, CPT, MS-DRGs and APCs
- 3+ years of coding supervisory or management experience preferred
- Remote workforce operations experience required
- RHIA, RHIT or CCS preferred
