About the role
The Procedure Coordinator RN independently performs the functions of a registered nurse in direct patient care, using the nursing process to deliver developmentally appropriate care and working with other health care professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care that meets patient and family needs.
Department: Hematology Oncology Outpatient Clinic. Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., four 9-hour shifts per week with an alternating Tuesday or Friday off. Job type: On-site.
What you'll do
- Prescribe, delegate and coordinate patient care using clinical judgment and evidence-based guidelines
- Oversee care delivered by the patient care team and coordinate the plan of care
- Provide education for patients, families and the care team
- Collaborate with physicians, families and other professionals to achieve the best patient outcomes
- Advocate for patients and help resolve ethical and clinical concerns
- Accurately document all patient encounters in EPIC and protect patient health information
What you bring
- At least 1 year of job-related experience required
- BSN in Nursing required
- Current Texas Registered Nurse license
- BLS required; ACLS, NRP, PACES and PALS per department requirements
